ATG Quirkies: Molto Staccato and Pizzicato: The Music Typewriter

by | Mar 27, 2019 | 0 comments

This post from the MY MODERN MET website highlights perhaps one of the coolest machines ever invented to help print music: the Keaton Music Typewriter. With an inventive attention to the unique requirements of printing music and a distinctive circular keyboard, Robert H. Keaton, created a beautifully designed machine “worthy of rediscovery,” not to mention value as a “beloved collectible”.

The post also includes a short video that features the Keaton Music Typewriter in action. (If you’re interested in old typewriters you may  also want to check out Marcin Wichary other photos.)

(Thanks, as always, to John Riley of Gabriel Books for providing ATG Quirkies)
