According to News 12 in Phoenix “Kathy Hoffman took the oath on a children’s book titled “Too Many Moose” as she was sworn in as superintendent of public instruction. The political newcomer and former educator who defeated her Republican opponent Frank Riggs in November said she took oath on the book, “Too Many Moose” for sentimental reasons.”
“This is my students’ favorite book. This is the book that my students always wanted to read from,” said Hoffman. And according to her, it was her students that kept her going during her campaign.
