Welcome to Blaine, the town Amazon Prime built introduces readers to a small American town of 5000 sitting right on the US – Canadian border.

Oddly Blaine is also home to an outsized number of mail box stores like Mail Boxes Plus, 24/7 Parcel, Pulse Packages and Border Mailbox. Why? Well, it seems that Blaine sees “a regular stream of Canadians who come to town specifically to pick up their US packages. For these Canadians, Blaine is simply a mailing address: the nearest, cheapest, and most convenient way to order packages from Amazon and other major US retailers.”

But trouble is on the horizon! Checkout the article to learn what threatens the town’s future.
