She alerts us to what a wonderful book it is to cook from, drawing recipes and “inventing Homeric grilling-and-skewering techniques” from the poetic narrative. And since there are “no eating scenes without drinking in the Iliad” she dispenses plenty of advice on which wines to cook with and include on the menu.
