ATG Quirkies: Charleston’s Own, Bill Murray, Reciting Poetry in a Greek Theater

Forbes contributor Anthony Grant reports that “Bill Murray, the Caddyshack co-star and all around American icon, is going Greek in a big, fat theatrical way this summer with a one-night only show at the Odeon of Herodes Atticus, an ancient stone theater at the foot of the Acropolis in Athens, on June 19. The Ghostbusters star will be revving up a predictably unconventional performance called New Worlds by “Bill Murray, Jan Vogler and friends” which is included in this summer’s lineup of the prestigious Athens and Epidaurus Festival. Think verse by Walt Whitman, as interpreted by cultural chameleon Bill Murray, accompanied by a cello…”
