Early life:  endlessly sunny summers in the family garden

Professional career and activities:  Professor of French linguistics at Leiden University since 1993, Executive editor Lingua (Elsevier (1999-2015), Editor in Chief Glossa (2016 –  ), President of the Fair Open Access Alliance.

Family:  Married, two children of 13 and 9.

How/where do I see the industry in five years (please answer this question if you answer none of the others):

Since I have no crystal ball, I can only express my hopes for a publishing industry that has come around to Gold Open Access as the standard, and that charges reasonable and transparent publication fees for articles in journals that are largely owned by the scholars themselves.
