Here’s a story about someone desperate for a good read. It seems that a former Hong Kong library worker was stealing patrons’ personal data to enable her to borrow books faster.  The way she worked it was to file bogus loss claims for patron library cards which meant those patrons could no longer renew their books and were asked to return their books immediately.  This would allow the desperate library worker to borrow those items. Thankful, with an assist from library officials, the cops caught on and arrested the women who was released on bail.  No financial losses were involved and no books were stolen. Evidently impatience for something good to read was the main motivation for this crime spree.
