I just received word that Emerald Publishing, the UK-based publisher of scholarly resources, has won the Academic and Professional Publisher of the Year Award at the 2018 Independent Publishing Awards. The Independent Publisher’s Guild (IPG) has sponsored the prestigious awards since their 2007 founding.
This was the company’s first time to enter into the award process and the judges immediately recognized Emerald’s outstanding achievements as a large company that is still able to stay nimble and responsive to customers. The Award serves as a capstone to an outstanding 50th anniversary year which saw a re-brand, an excellent book program highlighted by the PROSE award winning, The Century of Science: The Global Triumph of the Research University edited by Justin J.W. Powell, Davis P. Baker and Frank Fernandez, an enhanced research platform (EmeraldInsight.com), and the launches of two open access programs, Author Hub and Emerald Reach.
Emerald is humbled to receive the award and promises to continue to provide the very best service for their authors and to publish quality research with real impact.
