ATG Quirkies: Corsica: Idyllic Crime Writing Capital of Europe

by | Nov 3, 2017 | 0 comments

Evidently the French island of Corsica comes by its reputation as a premier locale for some excellent crime writing honestly. “The island has the highest per capita murder rate in Western Europe, a rate fully nine times higher than in mainland France!

However, the focus of this Literary Hub post is not on the frequency of murder in the Mediterrean but on the amount crime writing on Corsica . Titles inspired by the small island range from Ian Fleming’s On Her Majesty’s Secret Service to Robin Moore’s 1969 true crime book The French Connection and from Peter Mayle’s The Corsican Caper to Lucy Wadham’s Lost, shortlisted for a UK Crime Writers’ Association Dagger award.

Check it out, there may be a few title here that you’ll want to add to your list.
