ATG Quirkies: Art from all those print book discards

by | Jun 21, 2017 | 0 comments

This post from the DNA Life website highlights the work of Spanish artist Alicia Martin who “creates sculptures that look like a tornado shooting out from a building or like a geyser spewing from the ground of a room.” But besides her unique visual images what is different about her work is her medium; old books.

Why books? Ms Martin explains that a book “stores and records time and space.” It has “witnessed the transition and human thought… and somehow gives eternity to content. The book ” is ” to read and has many readings as people who read it.”

And of course, the accompanying photos alone are more than worth the click.
