You can always follow the example of some folks in Mexico City as recounted in this post on the website Hyperallergic.  Along with the help of two like minded friends, Mauricio Marcin and Maru Calva created Aeromoto, a small public library in the Juárez neighborhood. They started by reimagining their home “as an open space where they could share their personal book collections with the neighborhood and artistic community, creating a makeshift public library where anyone could come visit during opening hours or by appointment.”

The rest is as they say, history. “Aeromoto, with its slogan “tu biblioteca de confianza” (“your trusted library”), has gained international attention all the while becoming a fixture in the local scene and the Juárez neighborhood.”

(Thanks, as always, to John Riley of Gabriel Books for providing ATG Quirkies!)
