Talking Heads frontman David Byrne is inviting you to come borrow a book from his Meltdown library. The famed American musician is the guest curator of this year’s Meltdown Festival in London and as part of the festivities he “shipped 250 of his own music books from New York – margin notes and all – for festival-goers to read.” Acknowledging the library as a truly formative place “where that wider exciting world became available,” Mr. Byrne has placing his collection in “the The Poetry Library, opened by TS Eliot in 1953.” Interested readers can take “his books home, just like in a real library.”
