Amsterdam creative studio Moore has reversed the well-known idiom don’t judge a book by its cover.  They’ve designed a book cover that judges possible readers. It scans faces and  “if the awaiting reader shows too much emotion – either over-excitement or under-enthusiasm” – the book won’t open.

The Cover That Judges You uses an integrated camera and facial-recognition technology that scans the face of whoever approaches.  The key to opening the book is “a neutral expression” which  allows “an Arduino micro-controller to unbolt the lock and let the user browse inside.”
