According to this post from GIGAOM, a startup wants to reinvent big data, by ditching binary and putting computers in space. Evidently ConnectX, a Los Angeles-based outfit “wants to speed up the process of analyzing data, and the costs of storing it, by housing it in satellites.”
Founder and CEO Lance Parker wants to make big data storage more efficient and enhance analysis speeds. But there’s a hitch; “space is only the ideal real estate” to make it happen.
