University of California Press announces staffing changes
BERKELEY, California – April 29, 2014 – University of California Press announced today the promotion of three of its key members of staff. With immediate effect Kim Robinson will take on the role of Editorial Director, Deb Nasitka will become Marketing Director, and Rebekah Darksmith has been promoted to Deputy Director.
Kim Robinson joined UC Press as Regional Publisher in 2009 and spent two years building this program before assuming a wider management role three years ago. Over the past few years, Kim has been instrumental in helping to reshape the Press’s book acquisitions program, and as Editorial Director, she will assume full responsibility for UC Press’s book publishing program.
Deb Nasitka also joined UC Press in 2009. She has played a key role in reshaping the marketing of UC Press’s content and brand, spending the past few years building the product marketing group. Deb has also been instrumental in leading the way toward a more digital and customer-oriented strategy for UC Press. As Marketing Director, Deb will be responsible for the Press’s overall marketing strategy and managing marketing plans and programs across all products and major market channels.
Rebekah Darksmith has been promoted to Deputy Director. After joining UC Press in 1999, Rebekah worked in a number of roles before becoming Marketing and Sales Director two years ago. In this new role, Rebekah will partner closely with UC Press Director, Alison Mudditt, to develop the Press’s future growth strategies. She will have responsibility for all revenue-generating, marketing, and communications functions, including marketing, sales, and the subsidiary rights team, as well as the UC Press Foundation, where Rebekah will play a larger role in developing fundraising and donor strategy.
