In response to the comments online following the publication of “The Charleston Conference Continues – Getting to No: Calling for an End to Contention:”
I generally try to stay out of inserting my opinions in the discussion of topics and ideas. Any discussion or publication should exist for the purpose of debating and studying interactions, policies, opinions, and ideas. Jenica was invited to Charleston with the support of the entire Charleston Conference content group. She is a well-respected and famous library director. The opinion editorial which was published in Against the Grain was authored by several well-respected colleagues. Jenica and these colleagues have different points of view. We live in a free society where we are all entitled to our opinions. As the conversation continues, please let’s respect each other. We are all adults and we should treat each other as such.
Our congratulations and best wishes to Jenica for a healthy baby.
