InfoDOCKET reports that Archivist of the U.S. and librarian, David Ferriero will receive an honorary degree from Duke University at the commencement ceremony on Sunday, May 12, 2013.

Thomas Horrocks has been appointed as the new director of special collections and the John Hay Library at Brown University Library. Horrocks had been employed at Harvard University for the last 14 years, eight as director of the Center for the History of Medicine at the Francis A. Countway Library of Medicine and six as associate director for collections at Houghton Library….

Shali Zhang has been appointed dean of libraries and professor at the Maureen and Mike Mansfield Library at the University of Montana. Prior to this position, Zhang was assistant dean for collections and technical services at the University of North Carolina-Greensboro Libraries (2005–12).
