“Announcement is hereby made for a 12-month, Guild, Campus Head Librarian position at the Eastern Campus, starting Spring semester 2013. Suffolk County Community College is an open admissions institution committed to serving a diverse student population in a variety of degree and career programs.

The Campus Head Librarian provides strategic leadership, administrative supervision, and day-to-day management of the Eastern Campus Library, which is located in the Montaukett Learning Resource Center – a new nationally-recognized library facility.  The Campus Head Librarian collaborates with faculty to assess evolving user needs; plan and develop methods to enhance and support the curriculum and information literacy; and provide for the information needs of the students and faculty.  The Campus Head Librarian reports to the Campus Executive Dean and is responsible for the following specific duties:

  • Provides vision and dynamic leadership for integrated and innovative library, media and learning services to enhance and support the curriculum, instruction, faculty and student success.
  • Ensures that the library is responsive to changing modes of research, study, knowledge acquisition and learning.
  • Must be attentive to the diversity of current and future learners.

Mississippi College is seeking a… librarian to be part of a team providing instructional and reference services to the university community.  The university is embarking on an exciting initiative to integrate information literacy throughout the undergraduate curriculum.  This position calls for extensive collaboration with other faculty and university colleagues in the design, delivery, and assessment of our information literacy program.  The successful applicant will have the opportunity to help shape and influence the information literacy program.  This position is a full-time twelve month faculty position without tenure.
