Veteran Technology and Product Development Executive Joins Global Rights Broker. 

Danvers, Mass. – Copyright Clearance Center, Inc. (CCC), a not-for-profit organization and leading provider of licensing solutions, has named Haralambos “Babis” Marmanis as Chief Technology Officer and Vice President, Engineering.

Marmanis is the author of two books – “Algorithms of the Intelligent Web” and “Spend Analysis: The Window into Strategic Sourcing” – as well as numerous articles in peer-reviewed international scientific journals and technical periodicals.  He earned his PhD from Brown University, where he was the recipient of the Sigma Xi award for innovative research and held a National Science Foundation Graduate Fellowship. 

At CCC, Marmanis is responsible for driving the technology vision and the implementation of all software systems.  He is also in charge of determining long-term corporate-wide Information Technology needs and developing the strategy to meet those needs.

Prior to joining CCC, Marmanis was CTO at Emptoris, where he led a team of engineers that created analytic application software for supply and contract management.  His clients included Motorola, with whom Emptoris won the Franz Edelman Award for outstanding examples of innovative operations research in 2004 as a direct result of his team’s work.
