Alexander Street has launched the Filmakers Library Online streaming video collection (http://alexanderstreet.com/products/flon.htm). This first release contains 913 titles and 757 hours of video; the collection will grow to over 1,200 videos.
Filmakers Library Online videos are award-winning documentaries with relevance across many disciplines — race and gender studies, human rights, globalization and global studies, multiculturalism, international relations, criminal justice, the environment, bioethics, health, political science and current events, psychology, arts, literature, and more. The films present points of view and historical and current experiences from diverse cultures and traditions world-wide.
Internationally known producers represented include the National Film Board of Canada, KCTS/Seattle, ABC Australia, Macumba International, Reuters International, WGBH, and many others.
Among the hundreds of notable independent film makers world-wide whose works comprise the collection are Christine Choy, Roger Weisberg, Josh Aronson, David Bradbury, Judith Gleason, Jeremy Levine & Landon Van Soest, Aaron Matthews, Jeffrey O’Connor, Tana Ross, and Taggart Siegel.
Leah was appointed Executive Director of the Charleston Conference in 2017, and has served in various roles with the Charleston Information Group, LLC, since 2004. Prior to working for the conference, she was Assistant Director of Graduate Admissions for the College of Charleston for four years. She lives in a small town near Columbia, SC, with her husband and two kids where they raise a menagerie of farm animals.
