Cengage Learning, a leading global provider of innovative teaching, learning and research solutions, today announced the appointment of Will Passano as vice president of NetLearning, part of Cengage Learning and a leading provider of online courses and e-learning software for health care workers and hospital administrators. Passano will assume responsibility for the corporate strategy, management and direction of NetLearning, including leveraging new and existing products to maximize business potential and building alliances and partnerships in seeking new opportunities to expand all assets.

Passano most recently served as vice president of Skyscape, a leading provider of paid, medical content available on all mobile devices, including iPhone, Android and BlackBerry. While with Skyscape, he successfully recruited and managed a pharma-focused sales force, hired and managed a regional sales force focused on academic centers where Skyscape content is used in lieu of textbooks.
Passano has an extensive background in the medical publishing sector, ranging from the Science, Technical and Medical (STM) markets, to the controlled circulation and medical education space – in both accredited and non-accredited areas. Earlier in his career, he served as president of Ascend Media Healthcare and Jobson Education, and CEO of SCP Communications, the company who founded Medscape. Passano has also held several industry roles, including past chair of the American Business Media Healthcare Council, a member of the Executive Council for the Association of Medical Media and past chair and board member of the Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital in Baltimore MD.
Passano holds an M.S. in Business Administration from Columbia University, New York, NY and a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Roanoke College, Salem, VA.
Leah was appointed Executive Director of the Charleston Conference in 2017, and has served in various roles with the Charleston Information Group, LLC, since 2004. Prior to working for the conference, she was Assistant Director of Graduate Admissions for the College of Charleston for four years. She lives in a small town near Columbia, SC, with her husband and two kids where they raise a menagerie of farm animals.
