The company today announced the promotion of Neil Block to the position of President of Innovative Interfaces. In his new role, Block will lead the day-to-day operations of the company including sales, marketing, product development, and customer service. As President, Block will report directly to Jerry Kline, Founder and Chairman of Innovative Interfaces. He began his new duties effective August 9th.

Block began his career in libraries in 1982 upon receiving his MLIS degree from University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee. He worked as a librarian for several academic and special libraries until moving to MINITEX as a Network Coordinator. In 1988, Block joined the training department at Innovative Interfaces. After moving into the company’s sales group, he rose through the ranks and since 2005 has held the position of Vice President, Worldwide Sales. In the more than two decades with the company, Block has gained extensive knowledge of all kinds of libraries to connect them with the appropriate mix of products and services to meet their needs. He has first-hand knowledge of the challenges libraries face and has contributed significantly to the success of Innovative as it has grown from its early roots in Berkeley to become one of the market-leading library technology companies in the world.

The promotion of Block reinforces the company’s core value of management stability and his promotion marks the next phase in the growth and development of the company. Says Jerry Kline, “Without a doubt, there are few people who have contributed more to the growth of Innovative Interfaces than Neil and no one is better qualified to lead Innovative in the years ahead.”
