NC State Job Opening

by | Aug 6, 2010 | 0 comments

The Libraries has launched a search for the position of Digital Repository Librarian. As Chair of the nomination committee, I would like to introduce you to those serving on the committee: Hilary Davis, Rusty Earl, Mohan Ramaswamy and Markus Wust, with Lisa Ruth, ex officio as search manager and Affirmative Action officer, and Andreas Orphanides as staff to the committee.

The Digital Repository Librarian will play a leading role in exploring, adapting, and implementing emerging technologies in support of the Libraries’ digital repository initiatives. As you know, the range and scope of library projects in this area has grown rapidly in recent years, and the Libraries has already implemented digital repositories focused on scholarly publications, electronic theses and dissertations, digitized collections, and technical reports. The Digital Repository Librarian will play a key role in library-wide, campus-wide, and cross-institutional efforts to cultivate a next generation repository infrastructure and associated services. Please take the time to share the vacancy announcement (attached) with your colleagues in the profession, perhaps at a professional conference you may attend. The committee encourages you to nominate qualified individuals whom you may know through your professional network. Please send contact information of potential nominees to me directly at The full vacancy announcement is available at:

Thank you,

Steve Morris
