Emerald appoints Deanna Wamae as Senior Vice President of the Americas

Emerald Group Publishing Inc., a leading international publisher of journals and books, is pleased to announce the appointment of Deanna Wamae as Senior VP of the Americas. Based at the US head office in Boston, MA, Deanna will focus on driving sales growth and usage development across North and South America.

Deanna comments: “I am delighted to take on the role. It is pivotal in terms of maintaining our presence in the region, building on our current relationships and addressing our clients’ needs within both the librarian and research communities, and in turn developing new relationships”.

Deanna has considerable industry experience. Her most recent position was Publisher Relations Manager for the Copyright Clearance Centre (CCC). Prior to joining CCC, she worked in sales and journals licensing for Blackwell Publishing supporting growth throughout the Americas, and developing relationships with library consortia. Previously, Deanna was also a Program Director and Regional Sales and Marketing Manager for EF Education, the world’s largest global for-profit intercultural education company.

Shariq Mumtaz, Sales Director at Emerald, added: “We welcome Deanna to her new role. As a Regional General Manager based on territory, she will be in a most favourable position to develop further the expansion that Emerald has observed in North and South Americas over the past few years”.
