John Wiley & Sons is pleased to announce that Wiley author, Professor R. Balasubramaniam – B. B. Lal Chair Professor, Department of Materials and Metallurgical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology-Kanpur, will receive the Distinguished Educator Award 2009 for his studies in metallurgical engineering and significant contributions to the field in teaching-related activities.
Instituted by the Indian Institute of Metals, a premier organization connected with metallurgical engineering profession in India, the award will be presented on the 47th National Metallurgists Day, held at Kolkata on the 14th of November 2009.
This is the first time the Indian Institute of Technology is bestowing a prize to honor contributions to the field of metallurgical engineering, adding to the prestigious nature of this award.
Leah was appointed Executive Director of the Charleston Conference in 2017, and has served in various roles with the Charleston Information Group, LLC, since 2004. Prior to working for the conference, she was Assistant Director of Graduate Admissions for the College of Charleston for four years. She lives in a small town near Columbia, SC, with her husband and two kids where they raise a menagerie of farm animals.
