The National Information Standards Organization (NISO) has posted a new web version of the American National Standard Z39.7-2004, Information Services and Use: Metrics & statistics for libraries and information providers—Data Dictionary, and invites comments from the information community. The Data Dictionary can be found on the NISO website at www.niso.org/dictionary/. NISO committees have updated and upgraded the standard several times since it was first published in 1968.

2008-06-27 With all of the discussion and controversy over libraries lending Amazon's Kindle, we are interested to hear what Against the Grain readers think. We have posted a new poll on the front page to see how many libraries have bought a Kindle, and we have created a new forum where you can chime in about and tell us what you think.

2008-04-09 We currently do not have any way to offer IP access to our subscribers, we are investigating ways to implement this but it will not be implemented in the near future. Please remember that in order to have an online subscription, you must be subscribed to the print subscription and have given us a valid email address. Simply let us know if you are a print subscriber and are interested in getting an online subscription.
