ATG Quirkies: How To Imbibe a Book

If you’re looking for help in sharpening your literary tastes you might want to stop by the Columbia Room in the nation’s capital.  In addition to the lush wooden interior, head bartender JP Fetherston has concocted a cocktail recipe that relies on “a tincture made of old books.”  To create the unique flavor, “the bar staff collected a number of 100-year-old books. The pages were then vacuum-sealed with grapeseed oil” and infused with other ingredients.

The result is a cocktail that replicates “the sensation of opening an old book or walking into an old library.” According to Fetherston “It has that musty, fusty old library quality to it.”
