ATG Quirkies: America’s Oldest Bookstore and Its Resident Ghost

There is a book lovers’ treasure tucked away in downtown Bethlehem, PA that’s been around for quite awhile. Making a strong case for being the oldest bookshop in America, and perhaps the world, the Moravian Book Shop has delighted readers since 1745 and is still going strong.

Of course, they’ve had to adjust to the times and sell a lot more than books to keep today’s customers coming through the doors. In addition to the latest bestsellers, shoppers can find regional gifts, gourmet candy and Christmas items scattered throughout the shop.

And if they’re really lucky, they can run into the shop’s genuine, bona fide ghost!

(Thanks, as always, to John Riley of Gabriel Books for providing ATG Quirkies!)
