It doesn’t come as much of a surprise that Santa tops the local sawbones for being friendly – but he’s also just as reliable! And here is scientific proof.
A study in the Dec. 2013 issue of the Danish journal Ugeskr Laeger included 52 participants who were “chosen randomly and shown a film where a narrator dressed either as Santa Claus or as a doctor tells an identical story. Structured interviews were then used to assess the subjects’ perceptions of reliability and kindness in relation to the narrator’s appearance.” Santa won hands down for friendliness and was seen as just reliable. Not bad for someone that doesn’t exist!
