GPO Submits FY2014 Budget Request before Senate Legislative Branch Appropriations Subcommittee

Acting Public Printer Davita Vance-Cooks testified before the Senate Subcommittee on Legislative Branch Appropriations on the U.S. Government Printing Office’s (GPO) FY 2014 appropriations request. GPO is requesting $128.5 million for FY 2014, which is provided through three separate accounts in the annual Legislative Branch Appropriations bill…

Our FY14 Budget request reflects our commitment to digital transformation. Our budget needs – which are primarily for investment in new technology – are fundamentally important to our ongoing digital transformation,” said Acting Public Printer Davita Vance-Cooks.

Information Today reports that  Blackboard, Inc., and Vital Source Technologies, Inc. launched pilot programs with a number of colleges and universities to test-drive an integrated offering that makes the VitalSource Bookshelf platform and its hundreds of thousands of etextbooks available directly within Blackboard Learn, the company’s flagship learning management system.

Elsevier, … and Hanser Publishers, … publisher of plastics technology and applied materials titles, today announced the companies will offer plastics researchers and engineers a new plastics e-book collection on ScienceDirect.
