Partnership between EBSCO Publishing and BioOne Online Journals Adds Scholarly Biological, Ecological and Environment Sciences Articles to EBSCO Discovery Service™
BioOne Online Journals are now searchable via EBSCO Discovery Service™ (EDS), from EBSCO. EBSCO Discovery Service users are able to search more than 100,000 scholarly articles from bioscience research …

EBSCO also announces that they and Wolters Kluwer Health “have come to an agreement allowing metadata from Lippincott Williams & Wilkins (LWW) journals on the Ovid institutional research platform to be added to EBSCO Discovery Service™ (EDS). This agreement extends the Wolters Kluwer Health journal portfolio on EDS with its Medknow open access medical journals currently accessible to users…”
Potomac Technical Processing Librarians (PTPL) announces the availability of two $1,000 scholarships for future librarians interested in technical services. Students living or working in the PTPL membership region (DC, Maryland, Virginia) and who are currently enrolled in an ALA-accredited Library and/or Information Science program, including distance education programs, are invited to apply…”

The Elsevier Foundation Calls for 2013 New Scholars and Innovative Libraries Projects
“The Elsevier Foundation is seeking new grant proposals for the 2013 New Scholars and Innovative Libraries in Developing Countries programs. The deadline for applications is June 24th 2013. Grants will be awarded in December 2013 and provideone, two and three year awards between US$ 5,000 to US$ 50,000 per year for a total of US$ 100,000. The Elsevier Foundation will accept 1 page applications from May 6th through June 24th via www.elsevierfoundation.org. Forty shortlisted applications will be invited to submit full proposals by September 3rd…”
OCLC announced that “WorldCat … has reached another major milestone with the addition of its 2 billionth holding.
On Saturday, May 4, at 2:58 a.m. (MDT), the holding symbol for the University of Alberta Libraries, in Edmonton, was set through an automated process to the WorldCat record for the e-book, Evaluation of the City of Lakes Family Health Team Patient Portal Pilot Project: Final Report, published in 2012 by the Centre for Rural and Northern Health Research. It was the 2 billionth holding set in WorldCat. The e-book catalog record was created by the Canadian Electronic Book Library, an e-book provider in Canada, and was enhanced through OCLC’s automated authority control processing system…”
