My research needs you!
(Depending on who you are and where you will be; please read on…)
Call for research participants
I am looking for librarians and publishing representatives willing to talk with me for 45 minutes about their work and their perceptions of the relationships and negotiations between publishers and libraries.
Who am I? M. Kathleen Kern, a librarian and PhD student at the University of Illinois at Urbana.
What is this about? I am conducting a study of library-publisher relations in the Scientific, Technical, and Medical (STM) information marketplace. The aim of this research is to improve, or at least to illuminate, the relations between publishers and libraries.
When and where are the interviews? I will be conducting interviews during the ACRL National Conference 4/9-4/13 and the STM Spring Conference 4/30-5/3, 2013. Interviews will take place at a nearby hotel and will be one-on-one and confidential. Responses used in my research will be anonymous.
Who can participate? You are eligible if you are:
- An academic or research center librarian who works with purchasing and negotiations with e-journal/e-resource publishers OR
- An STM publishing sales representative or sales/customer relations manager who works with purchasing and negotiations of e-journal contracts with academic or research center libraries
How do I set up an interview? If you are interested in participating in this study or learning more about my research, please contact me at katkern@illinois.edu.
