Western Michigan University (WMU) Libraries seeks a … leader to serve as Associate Dean for the Libraries Information Technology Services. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to lead strategic and sustained technological innovations, and to coordinate their operations and assessment. The Associate Dean will play a key role in improving collaborative user-focused information technology services that contribute to the success of WMU students, faculty, and staff through continuous evaluation of their impact and value in supporting the University’s mission, its evolving academic programs, research interests and user needs. The Associate Dean is part of the Administrative Team and reports to the Dean of the University Libraries, who is committed to building and supporting an active, responsive, globally-engaged, twenty-first-century library.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Direct information technology strategic planning, budgeting, and goal-setting initiatives to enhance the Libraries effectiveness as an innovative learning and discovery center consistent with the teaching, technological, and scholarly demands of a dynamic research institution.
• Lead the Libraries information technology staff (Digitization, Systems, Technology, Web Operations; 2 Faculty and 6 Staff members) in a customer-centered approach to serving the digital information needs of the University.
• Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate technology infrastructures and services that support discoverability and usability, integration with learning technologies, and enhanced information applications.
• Support the technological needs of the Libraries by administering the implementation and assessment of technology management, programs and services, including data handling and reporting.
• Collaborate with other university constituencies to support the teaching, scholarship, and service goals of the institution.
• Demonstrate an intellectual curiosity and ability to engage with new education technologies, be involved in other aspects of university life, including serving on committees, conducting research, and engaging in scholarly communications
APPOINTMENT AND COMPENSATION: Full-time twelve (12) months fiscal year appointment. Minimum: $90,000 for Associate Dean position plus generous benefits. Rank and salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. While the position is an administrative appointment, faculty will have input in the hiring process, and the continuing evaluation process.

Rod Library seeks an innovative, dynamic, service-oriented individual to serve as Fine and Performing Arts Librarian and as liaison to the School of Music and departments of Art, Theatre, and the Textiles and Apparel major in the School of Applied Human Sciences to begin August 2013.
The Fine and Performing Arts Librarian will provide planning and direction for fine and performing arts collections and services at Rod Library. The position will oversee the development of collections in all formats, collaborate with faculty to design curriculum-based library instruction in person and online, provide in person and virtual reference assistance and provide visionary leadership for the creation of new library collections and services in partnership with campus faculty.
Some of the collections supporting these disciplines are currently housed in a separate section of the library, supported by a Library Assistant and student assistants. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with liaison departments, library staff and information technology experts to assess current and future information needs and to develop a vision for the ongoing support of fine and performing arts departments, taking into account current trends in the disciplines, in librarianship, in content creation and distribution, and collection access through digital and multimedia technologies.

Summary of Responsibilities:
Wichita State University Libraries invites applicants for the position of Instruction and Research Services Librarian. Energetic, innovative, adaptable, and learner-centered professionals are encouraged to apply for this full-time faculty position that reports to the Director of Public Services.
Develops, designs, and delivers a variety of instructional sessions and tools for the Library Instruction Program, including classroom library instruction, workshops and for a one-hour credit course. Contributes to the promotion, coordination, and assessment of the University Libraries instructional programs. Promotes student success and retention through collaboration with campus programs. Provides research and reference assistance to onsite and distance students, teaching and research faculty, and members of the community. Serves as liaison to different academic units as assigned and based on the changing needs of the University. This position currently has an emphasis on science, engineering and the health professions. Participates in the University Libraries digital literacy initiatives through the creation of online videos and modules, as well as teaching emerging technologies. Participates in the collection development process. Participates in library-wide initiatives and governance. Performs other duties as assigned.
SHASTA COLLEGE is searching for an educational leader to serve as Dean of Library Services and Educational Technology. The Dean must relate well to the diversity of students served by the programs and to the unique needs of Shasta College.
The Dean must be committed to collegial governance, teamwork, and creative leadership. The most sought after characteristics of leadership include sound judgment, flexibility, creativity, resourcefulness, and excellent communication skills.
The Dean of Library Services and Technology is responsible for development and implementation of the operations and programs of Library Services and for general oversight of the library facility, including budget management and coordination with other campus divisions and services. The Dean is also responsible for oversight and coordination or the District’s online courses and programs. The Dean is expected to exercise leadership in carrying out the College’s strategic plan, including support for innovative teaching and learning strategies, development of information technology systems, and close collaboration with other departments and community organizations. This is an educational administrative position, which requires advanced knowledge in library science, excellent communication and strong administrative skills. Employees in this classification provide administrative direction within a framework of general guidelines, and exercise supervision over faculty and support staff.
Starting Date: July 1, 2013, or soon thereafter.
