New Research From Bowker: e-Reading Habits Drive Market Share Growth of e-Retailers
Citing new market research from Bowker, InfoDOCKET reports “the rise in e-book reading in the U.S. and U.K. over the last three years has been a key driver in the market share gains of e-retailers… In the U.S., e-retailers accounted for 44 percent of book purchases by volume in 2012, up from 25 percent in 2010. In the U.K. the rise has been somewhat less dramatic but still significant, up from 25 percent in January-November 2010, to 38 percent in the same period in 2012…”
Growth in Use of the CC-BY License by Selected Open Access Scholarly Publishers Association Members
InfoDOCKET also reports that according to “data supplied by … members of OASPA … a total of 252,418 articles were published with the CC-BY license during the period shown. In addition a chart is provided showing that steep increase in growth of CC-BY licensed articles since 2000.

WorldShare™ Interlibrary Loan will provide an integrated delivery solution with new and expanded features for libraries. The service will combine discovery and delivery of electronic, digital and print materials within a single interface. It will also support evolving workflow changes in libraries, such as the option to purchase needed items rather than borrow them.
Lippincott Williams & Wilkins content to be indexed in Serials Solutions’ Summon service
Serials Solutions and Wolters Kluwer Health, US, have announced “that Lippincott Williams & Wilkins (LWW) content available on the Ovid institutional research platform will be indexed in the Summon discovery service. Researchers will now be able to search the abstract and full reference (metadata) details of LWW’s 280 journals in the fields of medicine, nursing and allied health professionals…”
EQT Said to Press Ahead With IPO or Sale of Springer Science
