That Edwin Mellen Press legal dispute with a librarian?  They’re dropping one, possibly both, of those lawsuits.

On Feb. 22, the US Office of Science and Technology Policy issued a memo urging publishers toward open access for federally funded research.  Meredith Schwartz explains how this relates to the FASTR legislation.

Meanwhile in the UK, the House of Lords Science and Technology Committee has some issues with Research Councils UK’s policy on open access.
