Supervisor I – Networking and Resource Sharing (NRS), Colorado State Library

“Broad Scope of Position: Position reports to the Assistant Commissioner of the Colorado State Library and manages the CVL state budget line item appropriation for library services and the budgeting and contractual arrangements for staff and vendor delivered products related to CVL services and programs. This position supervises five consultant, a systems administrator, a software developer, and one part-time support staff that is shared with Library Research Service.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
A. Direct operations of and supervision of four staff positions at the CDE and four contract employees charged with managing the State Library’s Colorado Virtual Library (CVL) programs as prescribed in 24- 90-301 (Part 3 Colorado computer information network), AskColorado virtual reference, SWIFT interlibrary loan, Colorado’s Historic Newspaper
Collection digitization program, the Plinkit library website hosting service, statewide online database
negotiations and licensing through Lynx, and related programs/service; develop and deliver presentation on all programs to diverse library and non-library audiences.
B. Advise the Assistant Commissioner of the Colorado State Library, other Library staff, committees, and library-related organizations on policies, issues,standards, strategic thinking, and best practices related to library technology, and develop
connections between NRS activities that meet CDE’s missions and goals.
C. Work with librarians and staff in school, public, academic, and special libraries to develop, implement, manage, and evaluate new and current Internet-based programs that focus on statewide collaboration.
D. Work with CDE, IMS, and CSL staff to develop, justify, and manage annual state budgets for NRS programs, including both general program plans and state-required technology plans and documentation…

Annual Salary Range: $85,500 – $91,200 plus benefits.
