The Assistant Dean for Collection Management and Scholarly Communications leads, administers, and coordinates collection development, technical services and scholarly communications for the University of North Carolina at Greensboro University Libraries. The Assistant Dean (AD) provides leadership for the selection and management of collections, including the collections budget, and participates in the management and assessment of technical services by focusing on strategies that maximize the latest technologies. In this highly visible position, the AD coordinates the development and promotion of sustainable models of scholarly communication and initiates innovative approaches to open access as it evolves on our campus. The AD is responsible for promoting new systems of scholarly communication through advocacy and outreach to UNCG students, faculty and administrators and through training and coordination of staff within the libraries. As a member of the University Libraries’ Administrative Team, the AD participates in general administrative decision-making, library management, strategic planning and priority setting. Capital University is seeking an… Acquisitions Librarian, who will report to the Technical Services Librarian.
Primary roles and responsibilities:
- Manages Innovative Interfaces Acquisitions and Serials modules.
- Coordinates and manages purchasing through YBP, Emery-Pratt, Midwest Tape, and other vendors.
- Works with vendors and Capital University employees to gather, organize, and evaluate acquisitions data for electronic, print, and non-print materials in Blackmore Library.
- Works with the Business and Finance Office and Provost’s Office to ensure that the III Millennium funds management coordinates with the University financial accounting systems, and that purchase requests and requisitions comply with University fiscal policies…
