The School of Information and Library Science at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill invites nominations and applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor rank with a starting date of July 1, 2013.

The faculty seeks a… colleague with primary research and teaching interests in one or more of the following areas: (1) Information behaviors, including both individual and social information seeking and use; (2) Knowledge management, including both organizational and personal information management; and (3) Organizational behavior and management, including leadership, entrepreneurship, and project management.

The School offers the Bachelor of Science in Information Science, Master of Science in Information Science, Master of Science in Library Science, and Doctor of Philosophy degrees. The School also offers an undergraduate minor in information science, a Post-Master’s Certificate, and a variety of graduate certificates and dual degrees (see

An earned doctorate is required at the time of employment. Candidates should provide evidence of research and teaching excellence, and potential for leadership in their area of expertise. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications.

“Kent State University Libraries seeks a … Systems Librarian to lead its Systems Department. The Head of Systems will continue to advance a vision for technology operations in a changing environment, advancing library computing capabilities throughout the University, the OhioLINK consortium, and the profession. The Head will work with all library departments to ensure the effective deployment and use of technology, and cooperate with the University’s computer center on university-wide services and issues that affect the Libraries’ systems and services. The Head will foster professional development, collegial relationships, and continuing education among the department’s faculty and staff.

The department employs one systems librarian, six technical staff, and several student assistants. It manages the Innovative Interfaces (III) ILS, ILLiad, and ERes systems for nine campuses; manages 600 PCs in multiple locations; supports three electronic classrooms; provides support for digital initiatives; provides support for the Libraries’ public web presence; and develops and maintains a staff intranet that provides an extensive array of custom library applications developed in-house by the three full-time programmers on staff. A migration to the III Sierra platform is planned for Spring 2013.

This is a 12-month, tenure-track faculty position; the incumbent will be required to meet reappointment, promotion and tenure standards.  The position will remain open until filled. The California Digital Library seeks a creative collections analyst to help reshape the landscape of print collections management among research libraries. The Shared Print Collections Analyst gathers and analyzes information about library resources to support decision-making among partner libraries, including the libraries of the University of California and members of the Western Regional Storage Trust. The analyst provides support to major shared print projects such as the UC JSTOR Shared Print Archive, the Western Regional Storage Trust and emerging initiatives in shared monograph and federal documents management.
