The Head of Collection Development and Management is responsible for leading and managing a program to provide a 21st Century research library collection advancing transformative teaching, learning, and research at the University. Central Michigan University seeks an … Government Information Librarian to curate and develop the Libraries’ extensive print and digital government documents collections as well as broadly promote the use of government information resources. This is a tenure-track, 12-month faculty position with the rank of Assistant Professor. In order to obtain tenure, the successful candidate will be expected to engage in scholarly activity, publication, and professional service.
Under the supervision of the Director of Information Services, the Government Information Librarian has primary responsibility for providing consultation, reference, collection management, and instructional services to faculty, students, and community users of State of Michigan and federal government information in all formats. Consults with technical services staff on bibliographic control practices and maintenance of government information as required by the Federal Depository Library Program.
