  1. Yes, this is definitely part of the academic library’s mission. It involves ethical use of information–crediting the creator for his/her work.

    Certainly. The academic library should be tasked with helping students and faculty navigate through the information environment, and this increasingly requires more focused consideration of ensuring not only that information is used ethically but that references are recorded adequately to allow readers to follow the path and retrace the intellectual support.
