Encyclopedia of Sports Management and Marketing is a four volume set from Sage that deals with issues related to both “the management side” like the budgeting, finances and human resources and the “marketing” end of sports ranging from corporate sponsorships to athlete endorsements.
The new database SpringerReference may have also escaped your attention when it was launched on August 1st. Interested librarians can get in touch with their Springer representative for more information regarding subscription and free trials.

In case some of you missed it, Masterplots, Salem Press’ most popular title, is revised for the first time since 1996. The new edition “features 2,220 essays in 12 volumes: 438 essays are newly written, 98 feature thoroughly revised or replaced plot synopses or critical evaluations; and 1,684 have been previously published but reedited for this new edition.”
Alexander Street Press has added two collections (2,188 images) to their Manuscript Women’s Letters and Diaries collection with the September upload. With this update there are now 103,207 pages from 45 collections in the database.
A new Reference Universe Administrative Module from Paratext allows reference librarians “involved in selecting, weeding and promoting the reference collection to directly modify the user’s experience” within Reference Universe.
Oxford University Press is offering a couple of new resources through the Oxford Digital Reference Shelf platform
