Ithaka S+R, with funding from the JISC-led Strategic Content Alliance, revisited twelve digital projects first profiled in 2009 to understand the impact of the economic downturn on each project’s sustainability model. Ithaka S+R will be releasing a final report and a toolkit, and will also be offering a series of free webinars in October 2011.

Springer has donated a “School on Wheels” bus to the Door Step School in Pune, India, where Springer operates a company called Crest Premedia Solutions. The bus operates as a classroom, complete with audio-visual equipment and can be occupied by 20 – 25 children at a time. The Door Step School provides education to underprivileged children at various locations in Mumbai and Pune, and runs the School on Wheels program for the children of migrant construction workers.
