Lynne McCay, an information professional who contributed tirelessly to both her workplace and her profession for several decades, was awarded the Special Libraries Association’s highest honor at its 2011 Annual Conference in Philadelphia on June 12.
The John Cotton Dana Award, named after SLA’s founder and first president, is presented annually to an SLA member in recognition of a lifetime of achievement within the information services field and the association. McCay, who chaired the planning effort for SLA’s previous annual conference in Philadelphia (in 2000) as well as its centennial conference in 2009, receives the Dana award in honor of her 40 years of exemplary work for the Congressional Research Service and her extensive record of volunteer leadership within SLA.
