Ingram Publisher Services Continues Growth with the Addition of Four New Clients
Ingram Publisher Services Inc., an Ingram Content Group Company, today announced agreements with four new publishers, the Royal Society of Chemistry, Insight Publications, No Limit Publishing Group and Opinionated About.
“Ingram Publisher Services has a unique position in the market as the only single source that can link worldwide sales, marketing, and distribution solutions with a publisher’s physical and digital content,” said Mark Ouimet, Vice President and General Manager, Ingram Publisher Services. “We look forward to putting the strength of Ingram’s combined services behind each of our new publishers, freeing them up to concentrate on content creation while we focus on getting their content where it needs to be. We are pleased to welcome each publisher to IPS.”
Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) is one of the largest organizations in Europe for advancing the chemical sciences. Supported by a worldwide network of members and an international publishing business, its publishing arm creates a wide range of books, textbooks, e-books, databases, journals and magazines that support chemical science information. RSC will build on its print-on-demand work with Ingram’s Lightning Source and will work with Ingram to expand the reach of its content throughout North America.
Insight Publications, with divisions in both Australia and North America, specializes in educational resource content for students and educators. Insight publishes a wide range of study guides, Shakespeare resources and skills-based workbooks and textbooks.
No Limit Publishing Group is fast becoming a force in the mixed media publishing landscape with a content focus in the genres of Thought Leadership, Business, Current Affairs, Management, and Personal and Professional Development. The company is focused on providing content and ideas that move the world and people forward in a positive direction across multiple mediums. No Limit has selected Ingram Publisher Services to distribute the titles of their hand-selected authors to print and digital readers worldwide.
Opinionated About, was created by well-known blogger Steve Plotnicki, known for his popular blog “Opinionated About Dining.” Opinionated About is releasing its first title Opinionated About U.S. Restaurants 2011: Informed Reviews of 1,800 of the Top Places to Eat in the Country (ISBN 978-0981565019). The publication, created from thousands of reviews collected from survey participants and personal visits to more than 850 of the restaurants featured, is distributed by Ingram.

Will this have an impact on institutions that already do business with any of these publishers?
Matthew, I checked with Ingram on your question.
Their answer:
For institutions – there is no change. An institution would continue to source materials through wholesalers, distributors or their library service/supply provider.
For booksellers – there is a change. Ingram has become the exclusive distributor for these publishers. Ingram is now the vendor of record.
I hope this is helpful to you. Thanks!
