Major responsibility: provide specialized reference service to students, faculty, and others through in-person, telephone, and online chat; provide individualized research consultation; provide outreach and service to the distance learning community; participate collaboratively with colleagues and faculty to develop, promote, and provide library instruction and information literacy; participate in collection development for print and electronic materials.
Minimum qualifications: MLS/MLIS/MIS degree from an ALA accredited program at time of appointment; working knowledge of basic Microsoft Office and Web 2.0; experience with electronic information services and library systems and their applications for reference and instruction; experience with and strong commitment to reference service and library instruction; ability to work some evenings and/or weekends; effective oral and written communication skills.
Preferred qualifications: additional advanced degrees; experience with Web page design and development; experience with small-screen mobile smart device applications; experience with federal government publications; experience with legal reference.
Salary up to $44,225 plus excellent benefits.
