Swets North America is pleased to announce our $1,000 scholarship contest to award a winning applicant with support in attending the 2011 Charleston Conference, taking place November 2-5. Application Information
In the spirit of this year’s conference theme, applicants will submit an essay explaining what has “to give” in order to sustain viable scholarship and why, along with a brief curriculum vita by August 15, 2011.
All entries will be reviewed by a committee comprised of: Katina Strauch, Head of Collection Development at the College of Charleston, Chuck Hamaker, Associate University Librarian for Collections & Technical Services from the University of North Carolina – Charlotte, and Christine Stamison, Swets Senior Customer Relations Manager.
The Charleston Conference has been growing to provide a range of knowledge experts and vendors with a venue for professional growth and industry debate for 31 years. This year, Issues in Book and Serial Acquisition, is a topic sure to generate thought provoking conversation from a variety perspectives.
2010 Swets Scholarship winner, Angela Dresselhaus from Merrill-Cazier Library at Utah State University commented on her experience in Charleston,
