Libraries Abandon Expensive “Big Deal” subscription Packages to Multiple Journals by Jennifer Howard, The Chronicle
The financial crisis is hitting all of us in libraries. The University of Oregon said “Something’s Gotta Give” (Charleston Conference 2011 theme!) and has renegotiated deals with Elsevier and John Wiley & Sons. Southern Illinois University has also renegotiated some deals with several publishers. Is this going to reverberate through to other libraries?
