Corwin Books Earn 5 Finalist Nods for Educational Publishing Awards
Corwin is pleased to announce that five Corwin books have been named finalists in the 2011 AEP Distinguished Achievement Awards. The Association of Educational Publishers’ annual awards program and its seal of excellence are widely recognized by educators, administrators, and parents as a mark of outstanding educational value.
“We have always prided ourselves in publishing only the highest quality and most meaningful professional resources for K–12 educators,” says Mike Soules, president of Corwin. “To have five of our titles recognized by AEP as finalists is an honor for us and the authors we partner with.”
The finalists are:
- From Standards to Rubrics in 6 Steps, Third Edition, by Kay Burke ($39.95 paperback) in the Assessment category
- Homework Done Right by Janet Alleman et al. ($38.95 paperback) in the Instruction category
- Becoming a Win-Win Teacher by Jane Bluestein ($41.95 paperback) in the Instruction category
- On Purpose by Samuel Casey Carter ($31.95 paperback) in the Community Building & Involvement category
- Improve Learning by Building Community by John C. Daresh with Jane Lynch ($34.95 paperback) in the Community Building & Involvement category

Distinguished Achievement Award winners will be announced at the AEP Awards Banquet & Gala on June 8 at the Omni Shoreham in Washington, DC.
Previously, Corwin has won Distinguished Achievement Awards in 2010 withDeveloping Standards-Based Report Cards by Thomas R. Guskey and Jane M. Bailey; in 2007 with Play, Projects, and Preschool Standards by Gera Jacobs and Kathy Crowley; and 2004 with What Every Teacher Should Know: The 10-Book Collection by Donna Walker-Tileston.
