Job Opening: Dean of Library Services, Savannah College of Art and Design
The dean of library services provides vision, oversight and direction for the growth of a multi-campus library system. Required education includes an ALA-accredited MLS degree and an undergraduate degree in a subject taught at SCAD. Ph.D. required. A minimum of five years experience in librarianship, including a demonstrated record of progressively responsible management, supervisory and administrative experience required. The person in this position must be able to articulate and implement an innovative vision for the library which incorporates a strong service orientation. Must possess an understanding of the library resources needed for instructional and scholarly support of students and faculty. Must be familiar with traditional and emerging information resources and library technologies, and must possess excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. Candidates with an MLS degree and a substantial amount of experience as either a dean or head librarian at a major college or university may be considered.
