Cambridge University Press partners with The Society of Theoretica​l and Applied Mechanics, R.O.C.

Cambridge University Press has announced that it will publish Journal of Mechanics, the official journal of The Society of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics, R.O.C., from January 2011. Journal of Mechanics is a peer-reviewed, international journal dedicated to the timely publication of original research in all fields of theoretical and applied mechanics, including solid mechanics, structural mechanics, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics and heat transfer, soil and rock mechanics, vibration and acoustics, dynamics and control, experimental mechanics, computational mechanics, nanomechanics, biomechanics, and molecular dynamics.The journal was first published in English in 1998 under the title The Chinese Journal of Mechanics, Series A, and changed its name to Journal of Mechanics in 2004.

Professor Kuang-Chong Wu, Executive Vice President of the National Applied Research Laboratories (NARL) in Taiwan and Editor-in-Chief of Journal of Mechanics, said “We firmly believe this partnership with Cambridge University Press will greatly enhance the visibility and effectiveness of the journal as an international forum for the exchange of ideas among mechanics communities worldwide.”

“Our partnership with The Society of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics will provide maximum dissemination to Taiwan’s rising research output in physical science and engineering.” said Simon Ross, Global Journals Director at Cambridge. “Journal of Mechanics will now be accessed by researchers worldwide through our leading edge publishing platform, Cambridge Journals Online.”Journal of Mechanics, which is published quarterly, will be hosted on Cambridge’s cutting-edge platform, Cambridge Journals Online (journals.cambridge.org/jom), and will include increased usability, increased functionality and many new features to enhance and optimize article usage.
